Brief:
Gateway church found themselves in a common place for churches where they outgrow the building that they're renting. With a need for growth, a few gathered to offer help. This small altruistic flame grew into a massive rally of church patrons extending their talents to pull off a 75,000 sqft build. It was during this project it became extremely apparent to us at T.DC the effectiveness of encouraging nonprofits to use “in-kind” services and bring in expertise from those closest to the organization. By just asking people to do a part that they can do and leveraging resources we were able to save the project probably 25% of what they would have spent.

“If you rally and bring together resources you can offset construction costs wildly”
How we came in clutch.
We had a congregation that had just quadrupled in size, so the donations and volunteers were in a very healthy place. But the management and coordination of those were where we really made a large impact. We spent close to 30 hours a week in the church managing the construction and filling in the gaps to save on cost and time. The renovation really went off without any hiccups because of the alignment that was created even in the early conceptual and drafting phases.
